The Nunn Fire Protection District is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of those we serve through emergency response, prevention, education, and preparedness. We strive to provide professional, compassionate, and dependable service while fostering trust within our community and maintaining a commitment to excellence through continuous training and teamwork.
Our history
Nunn Fire has served the Nunn and Carr communities since 1912.
Over the years, the role of Nunn Fire has expanded beyond traditional structural firefighting. Modern fire service responsibilities include fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, hazardous materials awareness, wildland and grass fires, vehicle incidents, public safety, mutual aid, and other emergency services.
Nunn Fire’s continued effectiveness depends on the commitment of its firefighters, officers, governing board, support personnel, and community. The department’s history is built on the principle that neighbors helping neighbors is at the heart of the fire service.
Where we respond
We provide coverage for both Carr and Nunn, Colorado. Our district spans 529 square miles, including 7 miles of Interstate 25 and Highway 85 from County Road 90 north to the Colorado/Wyoming border.
